Matías Candeira

Writer and screenwriter. He has a bachelor in Communication & Media by Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a degree in Screenwriting by ECAM (School of Cinematography and Visual Arts of Madrid).

He´s author of the books Todo irá bien / Everything will be fine (Salto de Página, Madrid, may 2013), Antes de las jirafas / Before Giraffes (Páginas de espuma, Madrid, 2011) and La soledad de los ventrílocuos / Ventriloquist's solitude (Tropo editores, Zaragoza, 2009); and the script of Fase terminal / Terminal phase, a short film selected in many national and international film festivals.

In 2010, he gets a full scholarship in Antonio Gala's Foundation, a Spanish artist´s residence, to develop a narrative project, and participates as a host, together with Mario Vargas Llosa (Prize Nobel of 2010), in the documentary El oficio del escribidor / Writer´s occupation, a intellectual exchange between a young artist and a well-known figure of literary arts. It was broadcasted on tv in November that year.

His literary work has appeared in many Spanish anthologies and magazines, among others, Quimera, Ribera del Duero, The fine wine magazine, Mi madre es un pez / My mother is a fish (Libros del silencio, Barcelona, 2011), Pequeñas Resistencias 5 / Small Resistances vol. 5 (Páginas de espuma, 2010), Aquelarre / Witches' Sabbath (Salto de página, Madrid, 2010).
